Saul Bass and Kyle Cooper analysis

Saul Bass was the legendary American graphic designer and also award winning film maker. He is most known for his works on designs on animated motion pictures. Saul Bass first became memorable and known within the industry after his work on "The man with the Golden Arm." His work had moved from optical techniques to computerised titles, it became revolutionary. He worked on various projects with Alfred Hitchcock, Otto Preminger, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese . He is the genius behind the memorable title sequences such as Vertigo and Psycho. Saul bass is probaly one of the most film maker to this date and has shown me the importance of certain elements in title sequences.


Kyle Cooper


Kyle Cooper is the most successful modern designer of motion picture title sequences. and is often compared to Saul Bass
His work includes the opening credit sequences of Seven (1995), Arlington Road (1999), The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996), Flubber (1997), The Mummy (1999), Zoolander (2001), Spider-Man (2002), Dawn of the Dead (2004), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Godzilla: Final Wars (2004), Superman Returns (2006), Across the Universe (2007), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Tropic Thunder (2008), The Orphan (2009); and the video games Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (2001) and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (2004).
